EA Takes Medal of Honor “Out Of The Rotation”

Medal of Honor: Warfighter, the last Medal of Honor game which came out last year, performed okay and even reached the number one spot in UK sales but it did not perform up to EA’s expectations.

The game only sold 300,000 units in its opening week which is not very high considering it is a Medal of Honor game. Dissapointing sales combined with negative reviews contributed to EA’s recent decision to put the series on a hiatus as stated by EA Chief Operating Officer, Peter Moore,

“Medal of Honor was an obvious miss. The game was solid but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers. Critics were polarized and gave the game scores which were, frankly, lower than it deserved.

This one is behind us now. We are taking Medal of Honor out of the rotation, and have a plan to bring year-over-year continuity to our shooter offerings.”

It looks like we won’t be seeing any Medal of Honor games for a while now as EA shifts its focus on other titles.
