According to the latest financial report released by the publisher, EA’s Battlefield 3 Premium service has achieved over 2.9 million subscribers.
This is an increase of almost 50% up from the 2 million subscribers in the last quarter. The service has managed to generate a total of 108 million dollars in revenue over the quarter.
For those of you who do not know, Battlefield 3 Premium is an online service that provides the customer with five DLC bundles along with other exclusive additions to its subscribers. Launched in May, the service costs a $50 one-time fee in the US and similar prices in other regions.
In other news, EA has declared that the Medal of Honor will fall out of rotation for the publisher. Apparently the EA had high hopes for the game but it performed very poorly and so the franchise will be given a ‘rest’.
