Dead Space 3: “Disturbing” DLC Promised in the First Couple of Weeks

By   /   Jan 30, 2013

While we couldn’t be more excited knowing that Dead Space 3 releases next week, Papoutsis is already talking about more “top secret” content that will be released for the game after the first couple of weeks.

Posting in a new Dead Space blog post, he hinted on the added content as being “disturbing”.

The team is hard at work on a top secret additional story that will be coming in a few weeks. We’re not saying much, yet – but think ‘disturbing’ to get your imaginations going.

Some would think it to be bizarre for developers to be talking about upcoming DLC packs for a game that has not even released yet. Executive Producer for Dead Space 3, Steve Papoutsis though thinks otherwise. He explained that the pre-launch period for a game is the perfect time to be talking about new content.

A lot of folks don’t know that when a game ‘finishes,’ it’s actually out of our hands for a few weeks while it goes through manufacturing. So what does the Dead Space team do during that time? Well, we play the game a LOT,.

But we also continue to make kick-ass content, so DS3 can be as awesome as it can be on launch day! You’ve probably seen some of the rad suits we’ve been making. Like the N7 suit: if you’ve played Mass Effect 3, this cool armor will automatically unlock for both Isaac and Carver. And like we did for DS2, we’ll also have some Day 1 DLC suits, like the Marauder, Sharpshooter, and Tundra Recon suits, that you might choose to pick up.

So similar to Dead Space 2, the third installment will also boast a day one dlc suit. Dead Space 3 will release on February 5 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
