A new job listing at DICE has revealed a position where the applicant is to build Mac OS X compatibility into future versions of their Frostbite Engine.

Reading the description of the ad, we get to know that the creator of Frostbite 2 is trying to put together a team that will port the engine on to Apple’s platform. The end product should “deliver an engine as great on OS X as it is on Windows and traditional console platforms”.

Alongside Mac, DICE is also planning to port their engine to mobile platforms. Late of last year more job ads were seen on DICE’s career page that were asking for applicants capable of porting games and their engine on to the mobile platforms.

Frostbite 2 is a powerful game engine, which has been used to power Battlefield 3, Need For Speed: The Run and Medal of Honor: Warfighter.
