Capcom’s Strange Reason For Not Releasing Resident Evil: Revelations On PS Vita

Just a couple of days ago, we reported that an HD version of 3DS Resident Evil: Revelations will be making its way to a whole host of different gaming platforms. However, PS Vita was significantly missing from that list, and now we have learned the reason why.

In response to a question on the Playstation blog this is what Capcom’s Mike Lunn had to say:

when we were developing Revelations for new platforms we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent.

I think the irony of his own statement is lost on Mr. Lunn as Resident Evil: Revelations was originally released on a handheld gaming console with no large-format screen or surround sound.
