Killer Is Dead’s Latest Details Introduces Zappa, the Executioner

The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed some details regarding Grasshopper Manufacture’s next title, Killer is Dead.

Announced back in April 2012, the game will follow Mondo Zappa, a 35 years old assassin who is tasked by a secret organization to take out people who have committed heinous crimes.

Zappa is armed with a katana in his right hand, while his left augmented arm can transform into different weapons. Famitsu mentions a gun and a drill as being some of them.

As the game progresses Zappa’s augmented arm will become more powerful by absorbing the blood of his victims. This in turn powers him up and fills an adrenaline meter that results in a powerful slashing attack.

It’s a mystery as to how Zappa got his augmented arm since he has no memory of the event.

Killer Is Dead is currently confirmed for release this summer on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan. At the moment there has been no word for a US release.
