Valve’s Steam Box Will Run Linux

By   /   Jan 7, 2013

Recently in Berlin, at the EHSM 2012 conference, Valve’s Electronics Engineer Ben Krasnow gave a talk where he let us have a few more juicy hints about the upcoming and much awaited Steam Box. Apparently, the console will run on Linux which was kind of obvious, given the extensive beta testing the Linux version of Steam is getting and CEO Gabe Newell’s opinions on Windows 8.

Apparently we should expect further reveals and news at either the Game Developers Conference in March, or at E3 in June. E3’s more likely of the two as GDC does not normally deal with product announcements. Either way, this year is looking to be pretty momentous for gaming, there’s massive changes coming up people, so brace yourselves.
