Peter Hines, PR head of Bethesda has revealed that sales of Dishonored have exceeded their initial expectations even with the stiff competition during its release frame. The firm is now referring to Dishonored as an IP with a future. In other words it’s highly likely that we’ll get Dishonored 2 in the future.
It actually makes me sad to know that Bethesda estimated low sales for Dishonored. The game was an amazing experience for me and I would love to get a second installment down there somewhere.
Destructoid initially asked Hines on the prospects of a second part. Hines remarked:
I can tell you that Dishonored is far exceeding our sales expectations, which is especially cool considering it’s new IP facing a host of well-established franchises this quarter.
We did terrific numbers again this past weekend, both in stores and on Steam, where Dishonored was listed as the #1 selling title over the holiday weekend. And Dishonored has really sold well overseas. So, we’re very pleased and appreciate all the fans that have supported Dishonored and Arkane. We clearly have a new franchise.
