Mojang made the official announcement today that their latest Minecraft patch would hit tomorrow. The 1.4.4 update is largely a bugfix patch, as well as ironing out a few other glitches and little behind-the-scenes things that make the rest of the game run so much smoother.
A pre-release version of the update was made available via the snapshot servers last week, allowing users to test out the update for themselves.
This news comes in lieu of the announcement that Minecraft had crossed the 8 million sales threshold yesterday, which has everyone at Mojang excited for obvious reasons. Hopefully this update announcement is a sign of more focussed development to come in the near future for Minecraft and Mojang’s other projects.
