Epic Games Predicts Development Costs to Double in Next Generation

Remember when games retailed for only $49.99? Yeah, me either. But if you think the jump to a standard of $59.99 was too much, how would you feel about paying more?

This could be a valid concern according to Epic Games chief technology officer Tim Sweeney, who told Games Industry International that next-generation development costs would probably double the current costs.

If development costs rise, then so could the price of which games are sold to you. Would you still buy console games if they retailed at $69.99?
