Microsoft Working On A Xbox Tablet?

By   /   Nov 6, 2012

The Verge is claiming that Microsoft is busy working on a top-secret Xbox gaming tablet. This is not the first time we have gotten wind of it. Earlier this year, it was reported that Microsoft was trying to get into the tablet gaming scene, but those rumors turned out to be a Microsoft Surface tablet powered by Windows 8.

So now what? This time around, is it truly going to be a gaming tablet? Well, according to the Verge, Microsoft Xbox Surface as they are calling it will be 7 inches long and “will likely include a custom ARM processor and high-bandwidth RAM designed specifically for gaming tasks.”

They claim that these Xbox Surface tablets would be produced in mass quantity by the same company that produced the Microsoft Surface tablets. Keep in mind that this company is not one of those which produce the Xbox consoles in mass quantities like the Pegatron or Foxconn.

Furthermore, they go on to say that we can expect to see these Xbox Surface tablets before the next-gen Xbox console.

Microsoft so far has declined to comment on this story. A company spokesperson says the firm does not comment on rumors or speculation.
