Hurricane Sandy Floods Activision Data Centers
A lot of us on the east coast are still feeling the after-effects of Sandy. Richmond, Virginia, where I’m at, didn’t get hit nearly has hard as with Irene, as I only have a piece of gutter hanging from my roof in contrast to a tree beside the porch.
However, the same can’t be said about everywhere else, especially New Jersey and New York, where neighborhoods and parking garages, among other things, were filled by Sandy. Then there’s are those pesky data centers, particularly Activision servers, which are currently affecting the online connections to several popular games.
These games include Call of Duty: World at War, Modern Warfare 2 (PS3), Black Ops (PS3, PC, Wii), and Guitar Hero. Hopefully, the connections won’t be down much longer, as Activision is working on getting them all up and running as soon as it can.
Those of you having trouble will just have to be patient. Perhaps console yourself with the thought that there are more people out there who don’t even have power right now.
