Kim Swift (formerly of Valve and creator of Portal) of Airtight games has bravely ventured into the domains of mobile gaming. Airtight Games is following up the Dark Void and Quantum Conundrum with a puzzle game called “PIXLD” developed specifically for the iPhone and iPad.
Regarding their choice of coming to mobile gaming Swift said:
Is it risky betting on an emerging platform like iOS? You bet. But I have a feeling Apple just might be onto something here. Buying a video game that you can play on your phone for less than a cup of coffee? That’s just crazy!
In this game, the players are pitted against time as they try to make blocks of similar shades of blue. Touching one of the small bits on the screen swaps the color of it and all the bits around it. The developers have called this game “deeply engaging, deceptively simple.”
The game is all set to be released on the iPhone next week for the introductory price of 99 cent price (regular price is $1.99). You can see the game in action in the trailer below:
