It’s a no brainer that the annual Call of Duty model has done wonders for the developers. While it may still be a subject of great debate, people still do buy every new Call of Duty title; and they buy it in the millions. So does this make Ubisoft worry over Black Ops 2 releasing just before Far Cry 3? Ubisoft has stated no.
It’s not even Black Ops 2 alone; Halo 4 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter are releasing in the same window. Ubisoft though feels very confident in their shooter.
Speaking to MCV Henri Guay, brand manager for Ubisoft said:
Far Cry has always been a little bit off the map in terms of the offer that it gives.
People are going to continue to play Call of Duty and people are going to look for experiences that give them something a little bit different. We feel we’re in a comfortable spot.
Originally scheduled for a release in early September, the game was delayed by three months to November 30.
Ubisoft still holds by their decision saying that the delay was necessary to make the game “as great as it” could be.
