Originally planned for an official release on October 24, Update 1.4 for Minecraft is now available for pre-release download. Also referred to as the Pretty Scary update, Mojang wants the pre-release to prepare server admins and mod makers before the official full release.
A few bugs were also squashed in the process:
Since the snapshot yesterday we’ve fixed some bugs that were reported, as well as including new sound effects for the Wither, bats, the anvil and finally the Ender Dragon!
Update 1.4 will bring new mobs, variants, wearables, a new boss called the Wither and much more.
