Troubles in Eastern Europe again. This time, it’s a region lock on the recently released, Dishonored. What’s so troubling about this, is it jut happened with the Borderlands 2 release. And, just like that incident, there was no fore-warning. So, those who pre-ordered were left in the dark, with an empty wallet.
It seems as if Russian region locking is becoming more and more popular, in an attempt to cut down on piracy. Some of the games that have already done this, are: Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, Spec Ops: The Line, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Prototype 2.
At least Bethesda didn’t replace the English voice acting, with forced Russian voice overs, like in Borderlands 2.
Though, the worst part is that because of the region restrictions, some customers aren’t even able to launch Dishonored at all. Oh, and Bethesda still has their money.
