A few days ago we reported on Resident Evil 6’s hidden on-disc DLC, with Capcom giving a technical reason for why it appears this way. In light of the backdraft Capcom faced for practicing this with its earlier games, it seems this on-disc DLC is going to be a free update.
Capcom-Unity explained the content already on the disc is “incomplete and requires the actual download to access.” Available next week, players will be able to access the on-disc content through a minor update that makes the data complete. The update unlocks two major new pieces of content, No Hope difficulty and co-op for Ada Wong’s campaign.
Capcom maintains that there is no future DLC hidden on disc, and gamers should find it a little hopeful that Capcom has heard their disappoints.
