In a twist of meta proportions, videogame set in DC universe, InJustice: Gods Among Us, will spin-off into its own comic book that NetherRealms Studio’s co-founder Ed Boon believes will “carry the story and tell the events that came before the game.”
Speaking at the EB Expo in Sydney, Boon discussed the extent of which the DC universe has crossed over into movies, television and videogames, and of his hopes for InJustice to “carve its own niche” in the DC universe, much like Arkham City did previously for videogames or as Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy did for films.
“With a game like Mortal Kombat, so many things spawned from there, like the movie. Obviously the extreme version is it would spawn a lot more things, but I know for sure we are making an InJustice comic.”
Look for InJustice: Gods Among Us in April 2013 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
