Square-Enix has just announced that the alpha test for Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will start by the end of the month. This was declared in a post made by the game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida, on the official forums of the game.
Here is an extract from the post:
There will not only be stress tests for the new servers’ coding and hardware configurations, but also tests for what will be the backbone of the game’s new system, which is why we’re being very cautious with development. Bear with us for just a while longer
The producer made clear that no data accumulated in the current FF-14 will find its way to “A Realm Reborn.” Yoshida also mentioned that they would keep open the original version of Final Fantasy XIV, while the shifting to “Realm Reborn” is ongoing, until the participation drops below 30%.
