PBS: Indie Games Are The Future
Public Broadcasting Service has a new video up of its series called “Off Book.” This latest video takes an in-depth look into the indie scene of the Video gaming industry. In the past few years, the Indie part of the video game industry has developed into a major force. Games like Bastion, Fez and Super Meat Boy have propelled the Indie developers to stardom.
In this video, developers explain that being free from the shackles of the corporate responsibility allows them to push boundaries of storytelling, game mechanics, design, and audio. In this day and age, Indie games are not overlooked anymore. It is in this genre that the developers are most free to express themselves, and game critics seem to like it too.
