Konami Wants Hideo Kojima For New Silent Hill

A startling news bit was revealed at Eurogamer Expo’s developer session today when Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima mentioned that he was asked to take on Silent Hill.

Konami wants the veteran game developer on board for their horror franchise but Kojima stated that at most he would take on a support role, if anything.

In the past I’ve mentioned Silent Hill in interviews, and as a result of that the president of Konami rung me up and said he’d like me to make the next Silent Hill.

Silent Hill has a certain atmosphere. I think it has to continue, and I’d love to help it continue, and if I can help by supervising or lending the technology of the Fox Engine, then I’d love to participate in that respect.

It would be interesting to see a new Silent Hill title under Kojima’s care. Would it deviate a bit from the horror theme and include a bit of action story telling? Or will the developer bring life to a new being which would even put Pyramid Head to shame.
