Ubisoft: Chances Of New Assassin’s Creed Game Depends On Reaction To Connor

Ubisoft has stated that the chances of another Assassin’s Creed game depends highly on the crowd’s reaction to the new hero Connor.

The main character before Connor was Ezio who was featured in three games. Could we see that pattern repeating? As in Connor also being featured in three titles based on the American Revolution setting?

Speaking to Euogamer, Associate producer of Assassin’s Creed 3 Julien Laferrière said:

We made three games with Ezio because people loved Ezio.

We’re going to see how players react to the guy [Connor] for sure. You’ll get to experience portions of his life, you’ll see why he becomes an assassin and what his motivations are.

The more you know about Connor the more you’ll love him, but in the end we’ll see what the reception is like.

Laferrière continued saying that they always have focused on quality and not quantity. Assassin’s Creed 3 has taken over three years of development time compared to a single year for previous titles in the series.

Assassin’s Creed 3 is the product of three years of development, but [because of that] we also now have a new engine, AnvilNext.

Assassin’s Creed 3 releases for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 30. The PC version will follow on a later date in November.
