Killer Instinct Trademark Renewed

It is finally upon us. Microsoft has renewed the Killer Instinct trademark, which is something that I’ve been waiting for, ever since they acquired Rare. The original Killer Instinct, made in 1994, was developed by Rare, along with its 1996 sequel.

There’s no way of knowing if this will be a simple HD re-release, or if there is an entirely new Killer Instinct game that’s going to be developed (hopefully) by Rare.

Though, since the trademark was filled under the goods and service description of video game software, with a specificity of “online video games,” I’m inclined to believe that we’re going to get a whole new game. Adding online components seems too expensive, for a simple HD re-release.
