News leaks and such aren’t the biggest thing in the modern gaming industry, what with the proliferation of the internet bringing the community closer to the developers. However, sometimes something a bit bigger than just news will manage to sneak through the net of security that devs wrap around their projects, and boy is this leak a big one. Somehow someone seems to have gotten their hands on a leaked retail version of upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
So, that’s two months before the game is due out? Wow, that’s pretty impressive. According to Proconsolehax, a well-known game modder iHcJames acquired a version of Black Ops 2 a lot earlier than he was supposed to. But, even more impressive: He managed to mod the game already.
There was even video evidence, but Activision have cracked down on that already. The video was pulled shortly before we could upload it. There were multiple players in the video, though. Could they have been bots? Or were they other players? If so, how the hell did so many people manage to get their hands on one of the tightest releases of the year so early? Be sure that Activision are cracking down on everything now though. Hopefully there will be more information shortly.
Black Ops 2 is set for release on November 13 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
