The Wikipad, billed as the world’s first combination tablet and game controller, is coming on Oct. 31. The tablet will be priced at $499, and those who pre-order the machine through Game Stop will also receive a couple of full-length game releases. The Android device also sports Nvidia’s quad-core, 1.4GHz Tegra 3 T30s chip.
The tablet weighs 1.23 pounds, sports a scratch-resistant Gorilla glass screen to protect its 1280-by-800 resolution LCD 10-point-gesture panel, and is Wi-Fi capable. It carries 1GB of DDR2 memory and 16GB of onboard Flash memory, with a Micro SD slot for expanding the storage capacity by up to another 32GB. The Wikipad has a 2-mega pixel front camera and 8-megapixel rear unit with Auto focus and flash, a docking connector port, a 3.5mm stereo headphone minijack, built-in stereo speakers, a microphone, and a Micro USB connector.
