Time is going to be of the utmost importance in this final fantasy game following the events of XIII-2. Clocks will be scattered throughout the cities of the game to remind you at every turn of the current time. That’s because the game ends once the time is up. However, it’s possible to gain time by completing certain quests.
Based on who you help out in the game, the time will either move shift forward or back; in other words you’ll either gain time or lose it. Square Enix confirmed that this game will be short and is meant to be played more than one time.
The combat system has been altered significantly. The ATB gauge is back but now performs slightly different. Players can assign abilities to the buttons of your controller and then you’re free to move around instead of being rooted to a place.
Surprisingly even though Square Enix mentioned the replayability value of the game, the new final fantasy title will have only one ending and supposedly it’s going to be a happy one.
The game will be released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime next year.
