Whore of The Orient: Team Bondi Targeting PC & Next Gen Consoles

Whore Of The Orient
Team Bondi, the developers behind L.A Noire have revealed details about a new project called Whore of The Orient. Development of the game is primarily focused on the PC and next generation consoles.

Information revealed so far sets the game during one the Shanghai periods of 1936, where players will explore a city plagued with corruption and decadence.

Plaything of Western powers who greedily exploit the Chinese masses. Boiling pot of Chinese nationalism, with the Kuomintang ruthlessly trying to suppress Communism and the labour movement. Home to the International Police Force, a group of Western cops hopelessly trying to keep the lid on and keep the peace.

Vacancies for the project have opened up. According to the job descriptions programmers, artists and animators experienced in AAA titles are needed.

The game was first announced last year by the studio head Brendan McNamara who said that this project would be “one of the great untold stories of the twentieth century”.

He further added that his experience with L.A Noire gave him many ideas for Whore of The Orient.

I learnt a tonne of things from doing L.A. Noire which will hopefully play into what we do next.

We think the evolution from The Getaway to L.A. Noire and learning the lessons we did on the way, and some of the stuff about emerging storytelling, is definitely an avenue to pursue.

Following the success of their last game, L.A Noire, Team Bondi faced some serious charges regarding working conditions at their studio. They plan to rise from the ashes with their new project.
