Bethesda Explains Dawnguard PS3 Delay

With the recent announcement of Hearthfire, fans have taken their frustration with the delay of Dawnguard on the PS3, to the Bethesda forums. Because Hearthfire was announced on the 27th, fans have accused Bethesda of  putting the PS3 release of Dawnguard on the back burner.

This is not the case, says Bethesda’s Pete Hines, who says that the development of Dawnguard and Hearthfire are “separate things.”

He went on to say, “We are working on multiple projects, even beyond those two things. The entire team doesn’t work on one thing at a time.”

As for the reason for the delay of Dawnguard, Bethesda has cited “unsatisfactory” quality. Given the game’s long history with memory leaks on the Playstation¬† 3, it shouldn’t really come to a surprise to anyone that there would be issues in development for the PS3.
