Guild Wars 2 Jeweler Crafting Guide – Gem Recipes

Jeweler Discovery Pane
I will call Jeweler a double-edged sword as the items you craft through this discipline can be used for two important purposes; you can either use them to render some useful capabilities in the battle, or you can sell them out for some hefty amount of money.

Being a Jeweler, you can craft Rings, Earrings and Necklaces, which can be used by any profession. Most of the Jewelry can be crafted by mixing the metal components with the precious gem stones to enhance their value.

For a run-down of what crafting is all about in Guild Wars 2, read our Crafting Guide. If you want to be a Jeweler, you can do it by visiting any of the following NPCs:

  • Lirun (Divinity’s Reach)
  • Vatia the Keen-Eyed (The Black Citadel)
  • Weski (Rata Sum)
  • Isabel (Lion’s Arch)
  • Emydd (The Grove)

These so-called Master Jewelers will teach you the art of Jewelry for 10 bronze coins/level. Before you start crafting Jewels, it’s important that you know the difference between the Jewels and the Gem Stones.

You can call Jewels the upgraded version of Gem stones. Both will have the same function, but the jewels will be more effective. Generally, metals are mixed with the Gems of the same tiers to get the corresponding Jewels.

Guild Wars 2 – Jeweler Refinement
Refinement has quite a significant role in Jewel crafting as you can craft various forms of gems (different tiers) and then directly mix them with the metallic items to get the jewels. The list of craft-able gems is as follows:

Guild Wars 2 – Jeweler Recipes
If you want to use the discovery tab to find out the different recipes on your own, you should keep the following general formulas in your mind:

Ring = 1x Setting + 1x Band + 1x Gem Stone
Earring = 1x Setting + 1x Hook + 1x Gem Stone
Amulet = 1x Setting + 1x Chain + 1x Gem Stone
Jewel = 1x Filigree + 1x Gem Stone

And if you want a list of recipes to craft various items (both crafting items and the Jewels), you should follow this link. The resource has a plethora of recipes from level 0 to level 400 a Jeweler can craft.

It’s worth mentioning here that there are some Jewels, which you won’t be able to craft until you learn the recipes from the Master Jewelers.
