Uncharted Movie Project Loses Another Director
Mixed news for the Uncharted movie project today. Fans will be concerned to hear that director Neil Burger of Limitless fame has left the project. Though it’s not clear why he’s left, this isn’t the first director to wash his hands of Uncharted.
David O. Russell of Three Kings and The Fighter was originally slated to direct the film, but left in 2011 due to differences in ideas for the script, as well as his insistence to cast Mark Wahlberg as Nathan Drake.
Though many insist that Nathan Fillian was born for the role, I’m not sure if Wahlberg-Drake would really be a bad idea, as they have similar builds and facial structures but I’m no film buff.
It’s not all doom and gloom, however, as while Burger’s departure leaves the film without a director once more, script writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberly have been brought onto the team to rewrite the script. The two have worked on big projects such as National Treasure and Bad Boys 2.
