In this fall, and this is hard, In this fall, I’m taking my talents to South Beach”..wait..I mean #naughtydog and #thelastofus…can’t wait
Irrational games Ken Levine announced via his twitter that Scott Sinclair will be stepping up as Art Director in Wells’ place.
Furthermore, he had the following to say on Nate Wells departure in an interview with Kotaku:
We love Nate and I think we all remain friends. After 13 years he sort of finished his work on BioShock Infinite, as you will be able to tell when you see the game again. I think Nate’s moving on to something else.
Seems like there are no hard or sour feelings between Wells and his ex-employers at all.
It should be noted that Nate Wells was not the only high profile developer that left Irrational games in the week prior. As much as four key members of Bioshock Infinite team also left Irrational games last week including:
- Design lead Jeff McGann.
- Principal Systems Designer Kenneth Strickland.
- Director of Product Development Tim Gerritsen.
- And of course, Art Director Nate Wells.
Irrational games however, has picked up Epic games alumni, Rod Fergusson from the Gears of War fame to fill up the voids.
