When naval combat for AC3 was first announced at E3, Creative Director Alex Hutchinson said:
Assassin’s Creed 3‘s naval combat only represents a small part of the overall game, but is a hugely important and satisfying addition to the series. Assassin’s Creed has always been a third-person action-adventure game, built around the gameplay pillars of navigation, combat and social stealth.
We felt that these were a perfect match for gameplay that involved navigating your boat through various sea conditions, managing the gunnery crews of your boat and trying to sneak through heavy fog at night.
Naval warfare in Assassin’s Creed 3 will include epically huge ships, lethal canons, explosive mines, as well as some stealthy navigating as it is an Assassin’s Creed game afterall.
Be sure to keep an eye on the waters when Assassin’s Creed 3 hits shelves on October 30th.
