BeaverTaps Games’ upcoming retro-inspired platforming game Mikey Shorts was created by a couple of guys who already love handheld phone games. So much so that they have been taking to the internet and sites like Touch Arcade to heavily promote it.
The game they’ve created keeps things pretty simple: running, jumping and sliding is the name of the game. There aren’t even enemies to worry about, just coins to collect and a target time to complete the level by.
Being so simple isn’t actually a bad thing, either. It’s really what those who have had a chance to play it like most about Mikey Shorts. It has solid controls and gives you the tools you need to find the optimum route through any given level.
It’s just you against the level designs, and it’s incredibly fun. Today we learned, via BeaverTaps’ Twitter, that Mikey Shorts has been sent off for Apple Appstore review. It has a fairly solid underground fanbase already and they’re all excited to finally see its release.
Hopefully the approval process doesn’t take too long and we’ll be seeing Mikey Shorts in a couple of weeks or so, so keep an eye on the Apple App Store!
