Remember Grid? Back in 2008, the game actually showed the world how developers can innovate in the repetitive racing genre of video games. Its signature flashback time rewind feature, and a smooth game play was praised by critics and fans a like.
Since the original game got a great response, Codemasters could not have forgotten about the franchise and so, they have come up with an announcement that Grid 2 is in development and is planned to be released in 2013. Clive Moody, the Executive Producer of the game said:
GRID’s back and we’re going to make street, track and road racing exciting again. The core design philosophy for GRID 2 is that we treat the race as a character, not a consequence of simply putting cars on tracks. Everything that goes into the game impacts on that second-to-second, in the moment, blockbuster drama – the feel and personality of the race
Grid 2 will not only refine the game play mechanics but let players to race on various racing environments across three continents – USA, Europe and Asia, including the lightening streets, mountains and some of the licensed circuits.
