F1 is a complex racing game but for the causal fans, it’s spectacular only if put in a straight-forward way. Considering the taste of both the fan groups(hardcore and casual), developers always have a tough time while designing a Formula One game. Codemasters Birmingham seems to have done a nice job in retaining the essence of the sport in a friendly game environment.
The developer has revealed the new Champions game mode that will let players to compete against the six F1 world champions individually in separate races. Each race will be a challenge corresponding to a single champion, and the next challenge won’t be unlocked until the current challenge requirements are fulfilled by the players.
Kimi Räikkönen, followed by Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher is the order of champions a player will go against in individual races. Here is what Codemasters has to say about the mode:
The Kimi Räikkönen challenge sees the player join a race as Kimi’s teammate at Spa Francorchamps. The player has just pitted and is on new tyres while the rest of the pack is on worn rubber with three laps to go until the end of the race. In order to complete the scenario the player has to race through the pack and overtake Kimi before the end of the race
A gameplay trailer along with the announcement has also been revealed to show what fans should expect from this upcoming mode. F1 2012 is set to release this September.
