The developers of Bioshock are in search for highly experienced developers to join their team and they have one major demand from all applicants:
Credit on at least one game with an 85+ Average Metacritic Review Score.
That alone can never justify the skill or work of a game developer. Studios have teams and the efforts put in by each member contributes towards the greater goal. Bad marketing or devious acts by people sitting on MetaCritic can take that game down with horrible ratings.
You can’t just look past a developer just because his last game didnt get good enough ratings on Metacritic.
People did say a lot that Metcritic scores are being taken too seriously nowadays. After seeing Irrational’s vacancy posting, I would tend to agree.
