CD Projekt RED Hiring for Multiplayer for Future Games

By   /   Jul 26, 2012

It seems CD Projekt RED — makers of The Witcher franchise — is the newest developer succumbing to the allure of multiplayer.

No, we don’t have confirmation that the next Witcher game will include multiplayer, but CD Projekt has posted a job listing for an experienced multiplayer programmer to work with the studio’s core team.

The bullet point also had this to add:

  • Creating a roadmap of changes necessary to add multiplayer to the Red Engine.
  • Designing and implementing network layer of the Red Engine.
  • Helping in design and implementation of multiplayer changes to existing systems.
  • Participating in shaping the future of the Red Engine.

It states that experience working on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 is a plus.

So, does this mean multiplayer for The Witcher 3? Or is this for something much sooner, say, their upcoming Cyberpunk RPG?

We’ll post more news as it develops.
