Apple Patents For A Game Controller

By   /   Jul 26, 2012

We might be seeing a new contender jumping into the ring and spar off against the likes of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo.

A patent by Apple for a Dual-Shock lookalike game controller has been published today. The word “lookalike” might not be feasible here since the controller really does look exactly like a Dual-Shock controller. It’s actually surprising that the patent went through without a hitch.

The patent further lists various inputs and interactions between Apple products, iPhones, iPads, iPods and Apple TVs. Figures released with the patents point towards the controller being wirelessly connected to an iPhone/iPad. Another figure shows an Apple TV being used as a video game console.

Apple is a major power house in the current industry with a revenue figure of over a 100 billion. It has one of the largest fan following and it’s iOS already dominates the mobile market.

Could we see Apple bring another revolution, this time in terms of games?
