Windows 8 Release Date Announced

Mark the date on your calendars folks, because Windows 8 is launching October 26th.

It was revealed by the President of the Windows Live division Steven Sinofsky at Microsoft’s annual sales meeting and on the official Windows blog by Brandon LeBlanc.

Earlier this month, Vice President Tami Reller told people at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference that Windows 8 would be out something in October, and now we have a fixed date to go with that.

As it was announced back in June during the Microsoft Surface’s hardware reveal, the launch of Windows 8 will be accompanied by its corresponding tablet. The RT version of The Surface will be available on the same day while the Windows 8 Pro model will be released 90 days later.
