Activision Blizzard Could Buy Itself Back from Vivendi

According to the Wall Street Journal (via IGN), Activision Blizzard could buy itself out of Vivendi’s clutches.

Vivendi, the Paris-based multi-billion dollar firm, currently has a majority stake of 61 percent in the world’s largest videogame publisher — which is valued now at over $8 billion.

However, the report states that this could be a last resort move by Vivendi as the company is finding it hard to unload the house of Call of Duty.

Aside from outright selling Activision-Blizzard, Vivendi can also sell its stake on the open market. Not only that, but they are also tinkering with the idea of selling off its other assets and just keep its 61 percent majority stake.

More details about this is expected to be revealed on August 30 at Vivendi’s annual fiscal report.
