Activision Blizzard is a massive name in the video game industry and is currently the biggest US video game publisher. Vivendi owns a 60% stake in that name and it’s up for grabs to the highest bidder. A sale here would mean the raising of almost $10 billion.
An anonymous source has reported that nothing is official yet. All they have done is asked the bank to sniff out potential and possible buyers for Activision. That list of the potential candidates include Microsoft, Time Warner and Tencent.
At the moment Microsoft and Time Warner have refused to comment on this. However, it makes one wonder of the possibilities if Microsoft did in fact buy out Activision.
With the next generation of consoles around the corner, do you think buying out Activision will place Microsoft high up in the food chain? or will it have a completely opposite effect and purge a great big gaping hole in the video game industry?
