While tech demos aren’t actually representative of final games, it’s still a good “preview” of the tech we’re going to see in future games. In saying that, Crytek has released a new video for its CryEngine 3 and it shows how good the engine is in handling damage physics and the sort.
In the video, you’ll get to see a pick-up truck rammed, tumbled and more in this 3-minute clip. While the graphics and textures itself are sparse, that’s not really the point as they’re showing off the damage and physics of the tech.
I’m not that much of a tech person, but I’m really hoping that what’s shown here will be put to good use.
Crytek’s latest game announced is Crysis 3 and it will be out early next year for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
