Dragon’s Dogma Stats Growth Guide – How To Rank Up

In Dragon’s Dogma, stats are divided into various categories, and they are influenced by vocation, stamina – strength, magic, defense and items you have equipped.

Stats are gained per level based on the class of your character. They are determined by the starting class, and since you can’t change the class until level 10, make sure you are choosing a class that synchronizes well with your gameplay style.

Your character will gain stats until it hits level 100; after that, stat gains are reduced. Below you will find a brief analysis of these stat gains by class. It should help you decide which class you should choose from the start.

Fighter

  • Health: 450 + 30 x 9 = 720
  • Stamina: 540 + 20 x 9 = 720
  • Strength: 80 + 4 x 9 = 116
  • Magick: 60 + 2 x 9 = 78
  • Defense: 80 + 3 x 9 = 107
  • Mag Def: 60 + 2 x 9 = 78

Strider

  • Health: 430 + 25 x 9 = 655
  • Stamina: 540 + 25 x 9 = 765
  • Strength: 70 + 3 x 9 = 97
  • Magick: 70 + 3 x 9 = 97
  • Defense: 70 + 3 x 9 = 97
  • Mag Def: 70 + 2 x 9 = 88

Mage

  • Health: 410 + 22 x 9 = 608
  • Stamina: 540 + 20 x 9 = 720
  • Strength: 60 + 2 x 9 = 78
  • Magick: 80 + 4 x 9 = 116
  • Defense: 60 + 3 x 9 = 87
  • Mag Def: 80 + 3 x 9 = 107

Which Class To Choose At Start?
Before you choose your class at start, know that Fighter provides the most HP, Strength and Defense. Strider provides the most balanced stats with bonus to stamina and Mage has low HP but high Magick Power and Defense.

Furthermore, since you will be recruiting your pawn down the line, you should choose the one that compliments your base stats like a Ranger Pawn may benefit your more if you start as a fighter with higher physical stats.
