While LEGO “bastardizing” franchises and other properties isn’t anything new, it seems the franchise’s upcoming LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will indeed have more than the Justice League up its sleeve.
For the first time ever in a LEGO game, it will feature actual voice-acting instead of the usual poppycock squeals and sounds the LEGO games used to make in order to convey dialogue.
The game’s developer Traveller’s Tales had this to say regarding the recent game-altering mechanic.
The LEGO series takes it to the next level by treading into new and dangerous territory: voice acting. While we didn’t hear any of the tender tones coming from the game this time, be assured that the man behind the mask will have a voice to go along with that mug of his. Developers swear that all of the humor that you loved from the previous game will still be there, only with voices now.
LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is set to come out on June 19 for the PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, Wii and 3DS.
