This info has been uncovered by a glance at the LinkedIn profiles of certain individuals who lists the aforementioned games in their online resumes.
User Michael Joseph C.’s LinkedIn profile states that between 2009 and 2011, he “provided video game prototype, design and demo feedback on various AAA titles including the Battlefield: Bad Company 3, Dead Space 2, Devil May Cry 5 and other unannounced titles.”
Aside from this, another ex-employee’s profile states that he was tasked with implementing “new gadgets and interactive features” into Mirror’s Edge 2. Not only that, but this also meant “leaderboards” and a “mini-game embedded into mirror’s edge game story.”
So, I take it Mirror’s Edge 2 will have some sort of multiplayer component, then?
While EA hasn’t officially announced both games, it’s been heavily rumored that these were in the pipeline and seeing as Battlefield is now EA’s “Call of Duty” gorilla, I think the announcement of Bad Company 3 is an inevitability.
Of course, the same can’t be said for Mirror’s Edge 2. Admittedly, Mirror’s Edge 1 didn’t exactly light the retail charts on fire, but the game did receive positive reviews and it seems to have a cult following of its own, so there’s that.
Chances are, these games might be announced at this year’s E3 or at another event later this year. Why am I assuming they’ll be announced this year, you might ask? Well, for the simple reason that revealing these games for E3 2013 might make it a tad “too late.” Y’know, given the rumors and whatnot, it seems the focus next year at the show will be on next-gen platforms.
