It’s funny how the gaming industry works. Not even a week back Beyond Good; Evil fans sat with their heads resting on one of their hands, thinking when the sequel to the action-adventure game would come out, or at least be heard of again.
Okay, maybe it wasn’t as gloomy as I’ve portrayed it, but you get the idea, right?
Over these past few days Michel Ancel has had his sip of heavily caffeinated coffee as he continues to discuss the sequel to BG&E, first stating it was very much alive, and then yesterday saying it was in ‘active’ development for next-generation systems.
Today, we actually have a new screenshot for the game, which is the first bit of visual evidence available after 2009’s brief but descriptive video of the game’s gameplay.
The gameplay seems to be inspired by Mirror’s Edge, but Ancel said the team has more of Prince of Persia and Assassin’s Creed type of idea set in mind for the game’s third person perspective.
Either way, at least the gloominess from the fans’ faces is gone. But just a little question of interest: do those graphics (though they’re quite great) really look like stuff from the next generation to you?[Source: VG247]
