SEGA US and EU CEO to Step Down this Summer

SEGA Europe and America boss Mike Hayes will soon be vacating his post in a few months time, Hayes will leave this coming summer to focus on advisory and non-executive roles within and outside the videogame sector. In saying this, he already has become a trustee of the Birmingham Hippodrove Theatre Trust.

Hayes, who’s been with SEGA for eight years, will see his vacated EU post passed down to current COO of SEGA Europe Jurgen Post.

Naoya  Tsurumi, president and representative director had this to say regarding Hayes’ upcoming departure.

Mike has achieved a huge amount during his time at Sega and we thank him for the amazing things he has accomplished.

Mike is a great character and very passionate about the industry, he helped steer the extraordinary growth of Sega and has built an exceptional team of professionals that will stand us in good stead for the future.

Needless to say, we wish Hayes all the best in his future endeavors.
