Should players expect more expansion after End Game? If executive producer and interim CEO Patrick Bach is to be believed, why, yes, we could!
In an interview with VG247, Bach was asked on what the upcoming release of Medal of Honor: Warfighter will do to BF3, since it seems that both games might be alternating every other year when it comes to releases.
It’s really hard for me to make bets on how the market will look at Medal of Honor vs Battlefield vs other shooters…We at DICE, we only focus on Battlefield. We make sure that if you’re a Battlefield player, there should be plenty of Battlefield for you to spend your days on. And again, we are focusing on giving you 12-18 months of value for Battlefield 3 and the expansion packs we’re releasing.
Of course, this also doesn’t mean that we should expect an expansion pack well beyond 2013, Bach might just mean that they’ll continue patching, updating BF3 well after it’s release.
For those uninformed, the last Medal of Honor reboot’s multiplayer was developed by DICE and the single-player was developed by Danger Close.
Now for Warfighter, Danger Close will be handling development duties for both components; although DICE still chips in but in a more technical perspective seeing as Warfighter is using DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, after all.
