Bowling, who left Activision just this March, confirms that his studio named “Robotoki,” will be “focused on being a developer development studio that just happens to make games.”
He also adds that they’re focused on their “team first, and everything else second.”
In saying this, has Bowling paired up with any publisher? Well, as it turns out he might not need to as he reveals that Robotoki will entirely be self-funded, and will only partner with those who support this business model.
I wanted to create an environment where the creative vision holders held complete control over their work and could guide and maintain it from concept to execution.
While this all good to hear, what about the games themselves? Bowling comments that the studio first project will be revealed later this year and is slated to come out on next-gen consoles, PC and mobile devices (iOS, Android, etc.).
If you’re interested in joining up with this new studio, I suggest going over to their website where they have posted job openings for their current project.
Needless to say, we wish everyone over at Robotoki and Robert Bowling himself, all the best.
