Darksiders 2 Delayed to August

THQ and Vigil Games’ highly-anticipated “Metroidvania”-esque action/adventure romp sequel — Darksiders II — will miss its targeted July release date.

This bit of info was shared by the development team over at the official Darksiders website. While THQ has been in dire straits as of late, fans shouldn’t be worried that much as the game is only getting delayed by about a month.

While some might see the delay as bad news, Vigil’s sole reason for postponing the game’s July outing is simply for the game to get more tweaking and added polish.  In the same site announcement, Vigil has issued a Q&A on why the game’s getting delayed…the short and straight response can be read below.

Q.) Are you truly pushing the date back to make Darksiders II a better game?

A.) Absolutely, that is the only goal fueling this decision.  Nothing is more important to us than quality and thankfully our company’s current operational position allows us to make the right choice for Darksiders II.

While the game still has no definite release date other than “August,” Vigil has confirmed that exact dates will be revealed in “the days to come.”

I admit, I am looking forward to this game since I finished Darksiders I, and if they need an extra month’s polish to make the game better, I say let them have it. What’s a month compared to a good game, right?
